Are there any US banks that would open US bank account for foreigner without him physically being in US?

My friend stayed in US for a long while before and has SSN but now
lives in the different country.

Now he needs US bank account to do some business,
because company that he wants to do business with
can only pay through wire transfers to US bank account.
He can use my US address for statements, but most banks
need a valid US-issued drivers license, etc. to open an account.
Are there any US banks/financial institutions that would open
an account without him physically being here (over the internet)?
