im thinking about buying a computer and i have had an urge to play call of duty world at war. the only problem is my graphics and my processor were not good enough. so now im thinking about buying a computer and everything works but im not sure of the processor..

What upgrades do i need? or should i get?

i am currently running an AMD 64 3400+ 2.40 GHz 512 kb L2 cache 1600 MHz FSB processor. 1 GB DDR SDRAM. what are the appropriate and/or best upgrade choices i have? im afraid to waste money on a part that might not be the best and may not even be compatible with my system. help is greatly appreciated.
i am currently running XP and yes i am a gamer, i just upgraded to a 8600 GT and i think i have bottlenecking in the processor and RAM or maybe both and im looking for the best, right upgrades for my system.
