Do I need to hire myself? (And few other questions about my new small business)?

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Hello, I few questions about my new small business. I just started a Production and Game Design Consultation business and I just got my first big client and I start working with them next week. I have everything set up, including a bank account.

Now I’ve never run my own business before so I don’t really know how it works. I have a home office, I already own everything I need and I am my only employee. So all of the money my company makes with this client will literally just go straight to me.

Now my question is this. My understanding is that when this company pay my corporation they pay it in full, as in not taking tax and stuff out.

Do I need to do something special to hire myself? How do I take the taxes out? I think I can sign up with some IRS thing where they do it. But I don’t know. And bank of america says they help with it too.

I’m really looking for someone that is there own business that pays them self and how that works. Please help?

This all is happening very fast.

was america built on limited-fortunes capitalism & destroyed by unlimited-fortunes capitalism?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

naturally, in the beginning of usa, there was not any super-overwealth - plus the founding fathers wisely prohibited entail & primogeniture inheritance, & fixed clergy salaries, to prevent the unjust wealth concentration that had made european tyranny & abuse of human rights

altho jefferson & lincoln warned against the corporation, [which never dies & so could get round their inheritance provisions to prevent unjust wealth & power concentration] the american rulers [the people] failed to prevent unjust wealth & power concentration [robber barons, corporations, multinationals, tammany hall politics, strangulation of govt by oilmafia etc] - & now america has the usual symptoms of tyranny: corruption, monopolism, fascism, oppression, economic breakdown
[eg, 7 of top 10 banks gone to japan, japan & others taken over electronics & car industries, big business interference with freemarket, competition & govt, galloping debt [to japan & others], tokyo worth as much as usa + europe, etc]

Imagine you were the President, and I had a proposition for you.what would you think?

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Imagine you were the President of the United States of America. And you needed some money. So instead of having to go to Congress for the authority to print more money, you instead came to me. And I tell you that I will give you any amount of money that you want, and that you wouldn’t even have to pay me back. The American people eventually will pay me back. And because the citizens don’t like taxes, we decide that instead of it being a direct tax, it will be an indirect tax caused by inflation due to the fact that you’re letting me print more money. So I print a trillion dollars for you, give it to you with a nice big bow on it, and say, here you go. You spend the money, and it trickles down into the hands of your people. Now, people are jumping for joy, because there’s more money in the system and everyone appears richer. And even though the value of the dollar will go down since we just added a trillion extra dollars into the system, it’s no big deal, since the people will never realize that they have to pay a hidden tax due to the inflation. In addition to this, since most of the money is going to be in the form of low interest bank loans, the people and businesses will have lots of money to borrow and be locked in a lifetime of servitude. Eventually, Mr. President, every big corporation in the world will be owing you money.

So, if you were the president, what would you think? You get all the money you want, and because my hands are getting dirty, you don’t need to tarnish the delicate system of checks and balances. Plus, as an added bonus, you’ll make the economy look better, all while secretly ripping off the very people that fall in love with you. Sounds great, right?

Now imagine if you were that American citizen or business.

What can I do about my employer discriminating against me?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I guess I will start by explaining my story. I would basically like to know what you would do in this situation, are there any legal steps I can take against them? Please let me know. January of 2008 I applied and was hired for an agent position with West Corporation (a telecommunication company thats “services include processing of customer initiated contacts, automated voice response services and direct marketing services, over the telephone and Internet.” on the Bank of America line group (there are several different client based groups throughout the building.) Anyways, I was hired and have been working on this line group processing credit card and loan requests over the phone for 9 months. When I got the job initially I asked my interviewer, a woman in HR, and my trainer if it was against company policies to wear my piercings at work (I have my lip pierced twice and my nose twice). All of them said it was not a problem as this was not a job where I would be seeing the customer. In my entire 9 months of employment not one supervisor, manager, employee or CEO has said a word to me about my piercings. I have shook hands with Don Lawson who is the site director and he never said anything. Well last week I applied for a new line group within west corporation working on the PAL line group as an aide for at home agents. I had my interview last thursday with the operations supervisor for the line group. I was hired that day and Friday I had orientation. Both of those days John (the operations supervisor) never said a word about my piercings. I started training on Monday at 10am I worked monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday…nothing was said. Friday I come in and John informs me that there is a West policy that states employees are allowed one discreet facial piercing. I asked him to show me this policy as I didn’t believe it seeing as I have been working there 9 months. Sure enough there is a policy on the employee website but I could not find it in the actual policy manual. Anyways to make a long story short I think it is awful that they are giving me an ultimatum of either loosing my job or taking out my piercings. It is my cultural belief that one should be able to do as they please with there bodies and I feel as if I am being singled out and discriminated against. All the other line groups have plenty of people with piercings. Is this discrimination? Am I being singled out? Is there anything I can do about it or what would you do in my situation. I have bills to pay and I am scared of loosing my job but I need to decide what I am going to do monday morning when I arrive at training. I just dont know if I can take my piercings out and feel like I’m not letting someone walk all over me and not standing up for my beliefs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also, I realize due to social stigmas that to some people a piercing may be seen as nothing more than a fashion trend. Its like wearing a bracelet its just an accessory. Well to someone like me it is more than that. It is deeply rooted into my beliefs that one can do whatever they please with their own bodies. Noone else has the right to tell me I am less of a person or uncapable of performing above and beyone what the average employee could because I choose to pierce myself. I am really just looking for some insight. A similar experience maybe or a suggestion?

Federal Student Loans in DEFAULT? Help?

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

I live in the state of Texas now, but I use to attend college in South Dakota. I took out a federal student loan and when I left in 2005, I began attending in a community college in Aug of 2005 until Spring 2007. I am now enrolled for January 2009 classes to finish up my degree. Yesterday I got a letter at my job from the Education Assistance Corporation for my employer to “ORDER OF WITHHOLDING EARNINGS”. I tried to contact an agent, and she would not give me a payment plan, instead she demanded I sign an authorized statement to give my bank account number so that they could take the money out every month, and if I pay for the next 9 consecutive months, they will put my loan in a rehabilitation program which will take it out from default. I was told that it was not advisable that I give them my bank account number. Does anyone have any advice about what I could do? Is it possible for me to set up a payment plan, or is it too late? I was also told that there was some law that prohibited them from garnishing my wages in the state of Texas which is where I am employed, is this true? I thought they had to take me court before they could start garnishing my wages? Can I consult an attorney?

Has anyone randomly received a check in the amount of $3700 from a company called Global Strategy Group?

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

I know is it a scam. The guy I called assured me that I needed to use the money to provide insurance on the package I would be receiving with my prize inside. At any rate, I was to take a good portion of the money to a “government institution” called Moneygram ( give me a freaking break) and send it to a specified insurance “agent” who would then coordinate the delivery of the package. My question, more importantly, is ‘do people really fall for this crap?’ Secondly, does an upstanding corporation like Global Strategy Group, LLC actually know they are being used in this fashion, and if so, how come it continues. Thirdly, does Chase Bank (the bank the check is drawn on) not have a clue about this either? Totally amazing….

In the next six months we are opening a franchise and in the process of clearing up poor credit?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I and my partner are looking to open a franchise in the next six months and in the process of clearing up the rest of our credit along with saving six months for capital but we will need a loan under a new corporation. We are wondering due to the crisis if we should wait for a year after the dust settles or will the six months lenders might be more agreeable to loan for small business. Even though the financial crisis may clear up it is evident we are heading to a recession in which it might be better to stay at the old job or try for a higher paying job. My partner and i consider the franchise as recession proof and we are able to save until we open but we definately will need a loan to be able to open without piercing the corporate veil! I understand it may take 1 year to two years for a bank to look at you for a large loan but we are just looking for start up to go with our capital. We are applying for the corporation and credit clean up is definately in the works for our score but a little worried that we may have to wait indefinate for a loan. Any suggestions? I saw in the other emails bad loan.com may not be the thing to use after the financial crisis so we are wondering besides borrowing and saving ( no home sorry!!) what else can be done. Will the late for small business be long? By the way what exactly is a credit line for small business what is it used for ? is it the same as money?
