How do I tell my BANK job I want to quit? Advice & please read the whole thing?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I work at national city bank and I want to quit. I want to give my 2 week notice, but I heard when you work at a bank, if you tell them you want to quit they send you home right there b/c of some kind of “confidentiality thing” b/c you have access to important and private information, now is this true????? I also heard that THEY DO pay you for the days you were supposed to work, but that you can’t remain in the branch. I really need to know b/c I want to work @ least two more week so I can get 2 more paychecks. If anyone knows that would be great. Thank you! HELP!

Outrageous bank fees for BOGUS cheque. help?

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Hi, I receieved a USD cheque of 3,850.00. I called my bank and asked how long it would take to clear. They told me 5 days, or more, depending on my branch. Anyway, there was money the next day, and I don’t have my account set up to deposit and withdraw.. so when the money was there, I was thinking “yehaw” and went shopping. A month later they withdraw all the money from my account plus interest, currency change fees.. the whole shabang! They say the check was altered!!! So my question is, I was charged $330 for the first currency charge, then another $75 when it was returned. (so that’s $400 in changing the monies, that’s not even the interest or transactions!!) The bank does NOT want to reimburse me the currency difference.. Why am I to be out OVER $600 just in their fees??? I feel taken advantage of.. this is FAR worse than a loan shark.. any ideas on how I could possibly get some of my hard earned money back?? Is that even legal???

When an ACH withdrawl is posted to my bank account, is my bank required to provide info to me?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I have had some ACH debits from my bank account from a company name I don’t recognize. My bank tells me that they have no further information(like a PHONE NUMBER!) they can provide to me - that my only option is to file a fraud report-which will start an investigation. Meanwhile my account is overdrawn and my real bills are getting returned–while my bank is raking in 34.00 bucks a pop on my overdrafts. I’m in Illinois if that makes a difference–I plan on leaving this bank - I feel they withhold info from me that is needed to manage my account–and between the teller, the branch manager, and the corporate location they all provide me with different answers. I had always heard that ACH charges need to be accompanied by a phone number of the party debiting the account.

Is this normal for a bank?

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

I opened an account at this bank to take advantage of their interest rate and credit card points. For 1.5 years I banked there with no problems. In Aug. a new teller demanded I could not write one check from my other bank to deposit in this bank’s checking, savings and make a credit card payment. She demanded I get out of line, write the checks and go to the back of the line. I refused and she took the person behind me with my standing there to write the checks.
I made sure to use the other tellers after that, but one day she was the only teller on, so I got in her line. When she saw me, she pulled out a picture and crayons for the child of the customer in front of me and insisted it be colored while I wait. I asked the person at the desk if there was another branch in the area and was told no, but she opened a window to do my deposit.
Two months passed and again the nut was the only teller on. I gave her a third party check to pay my credit card off. I have the funds in my accounts, but making a deposit and payment would have set her off. She demanded I write my account number on the third party check and I refused. I told her the number, she said “Wrong” threw the paperwork at me while saying “you should go somewhere else.”
I am treated like a door mat at home and work, so this didn’t ruffle me all that much, except I did send a letter to customer service. Now her boss wants to sit down with me outside of the bank because my presence upsets this teller and he feels I am too demanding.
I still want my points, and will close all my accounts once I get the refund, but when I tell my friends, they don’t believe me and at this point I am afraid to go to this meeting alone!
On the phone he told me I was intimidating and the other tellers have to drop what they are doing to wait on me.
I don’t do anything. When this nut picks on me, the others have to do her job which is waiting on me.
Is there somewhere outside the bank to report her bizarre behavior?

To Great F: Prior to this I have not had a teller unable to do three basic tasks. Writing a personal check from another bank to: deposit into my checking acct, add to my savings account (that is more than the entire check being deposited) and pay off my monthly credit debt is not illegal. It’s my money!
As for having me put personal information on a third party check, that is nuts! If you do this, you are giving your bank acct info to someone who may already have your license number and other personal info to steal your identity. The district manager already clarified that I should never give personal info to a third party check!
Basically I was asking for info where to report this teller as it seems that she is using me to create a distraction while she is stealing from the bank.
You did not answer my question and you gave me bad info that others may read and think giving personal info out at the request of bullies is safe!

Why is the bank holding money from my account?

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Yesterday I made an order online, but then had to cancel it at the last minute. the website (which i have used before without any problems) sent an email confirming the cancellation and saying that i haven’t been charged, but the money is missing from my account. I emailed the website again and they said that they hadn’t withdrawn the money, but that the bank could be reserving it from my account. I phoned my branch to check and received no help. has this happened to anyone? what do I do now- it was a lot of money for me and I need it back asap!

How To: Bank Transfer?

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

I sold something on Ebay and the buyer paid with Bank Deposit. A few days later they went to pay for an item from another seller and accidentally deposited it into my account instead. So they want me to transfer it back. I’m just wondering if fee’s for this are expensive (I’m with Bendigo Bank), and how exactly I do it. I have the ref number, so do I just go to my branch with the ref and ask them to send the payment back??? I’ve only ever transferred money between my own accounts before, so not sure how it works.

Can you sue a bank if they are responsible for Identity theft? Capital One is the bank in question?

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

My mother received a letter from Capital One Bank about 2 weeks saying that her information had been compromised to a third party & they may have the intent to fraudulently misuse
her credit & identity. When she told me it came out when we had a fight & she was crying, I was so hurt because I’ve never heard her cry like that before. We’re in pain because we keep questioning Why us? Why anybody for that matter?
We called 311, we know so far that she has to file a police report, put fraud alerts on her credit reports, & close her account. Apparently it happened when it had made the cross over from it’s former name of North Fork to Capital One.
If there’s any other things we’re suppose to do please let me know. The Question that is bugging me the most is “Can we sue?” & what are my chances of coming face to face with the malicious person who did this to her? I want him imprisoned.
P.S. - I recommend that anyone who is thinking about or has an account close it. Branch - W. 231st, Bx,NY

How inappropriate is it when 2 bosses (man & woman) go into office AND LOCK the door? Tell anyone “higher-up”?

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

In bank, small staff of 5. We are a branch of corporate office that’s about two hours away. They are both the top two people in the office, both VPs, and she is married…he is divorced. Everyday they do this. It’s not that they close the door, but that they LOCK the door.

All of the staff feel they are doing “things” in there…and i have pretty good confirmation of it.

Do you go above them to corporate office and let senior management there know?

What do you do?
