get one that says “i’m 40 & i still leave my major life decisions to strangers on the internet” and get like a DRAGON and a tribal band under it.
    and a nautical star. :D

it has to be something personal, dont take suggestions from strangers. Go to a tattoo shop, and talk to the artists. Tell them of some ideas you may have, you both will work out a pattern.

A tattoo definitely needs to represent something special to you. If it doesn’t, that’s when you regret them. Every one of my tattoos has a story behind it and represents love. That said, I like japanese style. A great writhing japanese dragon or koi down your arm. But, the thing is, do your research. Check out the shops and artists. I have seen such crap and wonder how a person could have such awful stuff put on them and then there is artistic genius out there. Be very picky.

the fact that you are asking for “cool” tattoo ideas tells me that you are looking for the wrong thing. tattoos shouldn’t be about “cool” whether you are 18 or 70.
you need to do some soul searching. the BEST way to chose a tattoo that will suit you and keep you happy for life is to think about things that mean something to you. also do some research on tattoo artists and the type of art they do. don’t just go to the first person you check out because their art is okay. get something that is phenomenal and THAT will make your tattoo cool, no matter what it is.
